There are few animals that live near the little blue penguins. Some animals are considered their predators and some are their prey. The Little penguin’s predators are: New Zealand fur seal, stoats, white-bellied sea eagles, foxes, gulls, cats, dogs, and sharks. These penguins are so small they don’t need to eat much food in a daily basis. The liitle blue penguins are able to swim 20m deep; so they usually go and catch small fishes – squids, red cod, ahuru, slender sprat, Graham's gudgeon, krill’s and anchovy’s.
