It's Life Cycle:

Through July-December it’s where new baby penguins are born. First in July-September adult penguins start mating, make nest for their young and lay eggs.August-October they usually lay a single clutch of two eggs, but occasionally lay two clutches. The eggs are incubated for about 40 days.

December-April the 2nd clutches start hatching. Adult birds come and go from the colony, doubling their body weight in preparation for molting. If you see scruffy-looking penguins they are not ill. These penguins are just molting for 2-3 weeks. During this time they cannot swim, making them particularly vulnerable to dogs, cats, and stoats. But they better molt fast because remember they cannot hunt in the sea for food. In this certain time many little penguins become stressful, grumpy and dehydrated

September-December the chicks finally hatch! They weigh about 35g when they first hatch from their eggs. Both parents guard and feed the chicks until 2-3 weeks. The parents return to the sea daily to find food for their family. Chicks are banded after about 5 weeks they are born. At the age of 8 weeks the chicks are now considered fully grown adults. These grown up chicks now leave their nest and go to the sea for 6-12 months. Early season breeders start the process again (double brooders).

From May- June you can find little blue penguins on land and seashores. At this time they start preparing for their chicks that are going to be hatch soon by eating a lot then they usually do.
